HUMBUG

a novel

Sawyer Nowak is an average fifteen-year-old; they hang out with their friends, they wrangle their four younger siblings, and they butt heads with their parents.
Yes, Sawyer Nowak is a perfectly normal fifteen-year-old… with one exception. Sawyer has super powers, and so do their two best friends.
When a new, up-and-coming supervillain kidnaps the city’s greatest superheroes, it’s up to Sawyer and their friends to suit up and save the city, save the day, and save the heroes - Sawyer’s parents.

As an avid reader growing up, I always loved a good middle grades/young adult “teenage hero saves the day when the adults can’t” story, and I knew I had to write my own someday. Humbug is my offering in that arena, featuring a trio of teenage superhumans whose dream of becoming superheroes comes calling sooner than they expected. It’s a lighter and sillier outing set in the same super-powered universe as The Mediocre Artists Club, though the two stories are separated by thirteen years and several states.
